Staff Profile:
Dr. Omotayo OLALERE is currently a Senior lecturer of German in the Department of Foreign Languages at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria and a Research Fellow at the University of the Free State, South Africa. She finished her PhD in German Language and Linguistics at Obafemi Awolowo University in 2018 and proceeded to work as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of the Free State, South Africa in 2019. She is a member of professional bodies like Nigerian Association of Teachers of German (NAToG), Association of Translation Studies in Africa (ATSA), Nigerian Institute of Translators and Interpreters (NITI), Translation Studies Association of Nigeria (TSAN) and Northeast Modern Language Association, USA (NeMLA). Dr. Olalere has published widely. Apart from contribution to books, her research articles have been published in prestigious journals of linguistics, literature and translation in Africa and abroad. One of her professional achievements is the publication of the German translation of the famous Yoruba novel by D. O. Fagunwa, “Ogboju Ode Ninu Igbo Irunmale” titled “Die befremdlichen Abenteuer von Akara-Ogun”.
